Professional Philosophy
I feel that when a client has entrusted me with their money, their dreams, their comfort, and their safety, I owe them my very best effort. It seems as though most builders just want to do the minimum necessary to get by, and although this might lead to fast turn- around times and cheaper prices, it doesn’t provide the homeowner with the kind of lasting value that you can only get from a carefully built home. There’s a saying that I like because of its truthfulness…”The results of quality work last longer than the shock of high prices.”
I have always endeavored to build every project as if I were building it for myself, in every task undertaken to do it well, and always ensure that it’s done right. There used to be a time when this was normal practice (or SOP-standard operating procedure in today’s terms), but with the advent of cookie-cutter houses, and the emphasis of quantity over quality, those times are long gone. The number of builders who share my philosophy today are very few.
But in addition to old-time values there are certain key elements that are essential to successfully executing a complex building project. Whether it’s a large custom home, or relatively small remodeling job, we incorporate all of these elements in every single job we do.
- Leadership
- Communication
- Teamwork
- Experience
- Craftsmanship
- Attention To Detail
Over the years some of our clients’ homes have elicited comments from others such as “You just don’t see homes built like this anymore,” and “How were you ever able to do that? That’s amazing.” This is an immense source of pride for my whole team, and that’s the reason you will never hear us refer to ourselves as a general-contracting company that merely hires people to assemble various parts of the building; we are builders in the old sense of the word where the quality of the work always comes first.
